About Palace On Wheels
This original luxury train of India was first introduced in 1984 using saloons of former Maharajas Of India.
Due to logistical reasons the Saloons of former Maharajas were soon replaced by Metre Gauge Train with sharing bathrooms.
In late 1990,s a broad gauge version of the train with attached bathrooms was introduced & for 2017 season a new train has been launched. This new version of Palace On Wheels train offers 39 Deluxe Cabins & Two Super Deluxe Cabins for guests with Two Restro-Bar Lounges & Spa saloon.
There is no provision of triple occupancy in the new train & maximum 2 persons>5 years can adjust in 1 Cabin

The concept of Palace On Wheels train tour is that you journey from one tourist destination to another,in comfort of your sleeping chambers & enjoy Pre-Paid Group Excursions & Sightseeing Trips during the Day,with Services of English Speaking Guides.
DAY 1 : Wednesday : New DELHI Depart
Self report at Safderjung Railway station by 430 p.m. for traditional welcome & check in formalities Guests are escorted to respective sleeping chambers & train soon departs.
DAY 2: Thursday: JAIPUR
Welcome to the first planned city of India,built in early 18th century & once the centre of Rajputs Royal families.It is also popularly known as The Pink City.
Morning visit the early 18th century built City Palace Complex with fusion of Rajput, Mughal and European styles of architecture Proceed for excursion to Amber Hill Fort Palace Complex,built in late 16th century. Enjoy Elephant joy ride up the steep ramparts Time free to shop for local textiles,semi precious stones & diamond jewellery Evening enjoy Cultural program with Gala dinner in Palace Hotel.
DAY 3 : Friday : Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve & Chittor Fort
Early morning excursion to Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve, famous for its tiger population. Other major wild animals include the tiger, leopard, nilgai, dhole, wild boar, sambar, hyena, sloth bear and chital. It is also home to wide variety of trees, plants, birds and reptiles. Ranthambore is also the site for one of the largest banyan trees in India.
Afternoon excursion to 8th century built Chittorgarh Fort,atop a wide plateau & having a number of water bodies.It was once home to the Mewar Dynasty-said to be one of the longest royal lineage Evening enjoy Sound & Light Show.
DAY 4: Saturday: UDAIPUR
Also called the City Of Lakes,the Mewar Dynasty Clan shifted & built this city in 16th Century. Morning visit City Palace complex ,originally built in 16th century & renovated in 18th Century. Enjoy Boat Ride in Lake Pichola Lunch in Palace hotel.Time free to shop for miniature paintings.
DAY 5: Sunday: JAISALMER
Jaisalmer lies in the heart of Harsh Thar desert, & surrounding sands have Golden Yellowish tinge Morning, walk through the bazaar & narrow streets of Jaisalmer Golden Fort, originally built in 12th century & renovated in 18th Century Afternoon proceed for excursion to shifting Sand Dunes of Sam & enjoy camel joy ride Later enjoy Cultural program & bonfire dinner under the stars,in the desert.
DAY 6: Monday: JODHPUR
Jodhpur was the capital of the kingdom known as Marwar. & a popular tourist destination, featuring many palaces, forts and temples, set in the stark landscape of the Thar desert.
Morning visit Mehrangarh Fort Palace Complex,located atop a 400 feet hill & approachable only through meandering gateways.The foundation of the Fort was laid in 15th century,but work was completed only in 17th Century.There is a very impressive Museum collection in the complex.Walk to nearby located Jaswant Thada, an architectural 19th century landmark in white marble & built as a memorial to local Royalty Lunch in Palace Hotel.
Day 7: Tue: BIRD SANCTUARY & THE TAJ MAHAL
Early Morning ,enjoy cycle rickshaw ride through narrow pathways of Bharatpur Bird sanctuary ,an UNESCO World heritage site & home to over 230 species of birds.
Afternoon visit UNESCO World Heritage site of Agra Fort,once seat of power & capital of The Mughal Dynasty Proceed to the Taj Mahal,an UNESCO World Heritage Site & more popularly renowned as One of the Seven Wonders of Modern World Time free to Shop for marble mementoes.
Day 8: Wed: DELHI Return
Palace On Wheels train returns to Safderjung Railway Station by 530 a.m. in the morning.
Check out by 715 a.m. after early breakfast.

Booking Terms & Conditions
Important:
- Maximum Three persons above 5 years can travel in One cabin.
- Children< 12 years are charged 50% of adult cost.
- Children< 5 years are charged 10% of adult cost(but not provided bed).
- Train Tour will operate subject to Minimum Twenty Passengers (or advance received will be refunded)
Train Tour Cost Includes:
Onboard Stay in A/C Sleeping Chambers with private washrooms & shower cubicle; Daily 3 meals; Group excursions & sightseeing tours by air-conditioned buses with English speaking Guide; Monument entrance fees, Elephant joy ride at Amer Fort in Jaipur; Camel joy ride in sand dunes at Jaisalmer; Boat ride in Lake Pichola at Udaipur; Jungle safari to Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve in open canters, Cycle rickshaw ride in Bharatpur Bird sanctuary.
Extra Costs (not included):
Video Camera fees at monuments & game parks; alcoholic & non- alcoholic beverages; laundry; room services; telephone calls; tips; porter charges, tour insurance; airport transfers; hotel stay & all other expenses of personal nature.
TERMS & CONDITIONS:
RTDC (Tourism dept of rajasthan Govt) is the principal Train Operator of Palace On Wheels & liability of Royal Indian Trains is limited to that of booking agent only Client is liable to pay taxes as vaild on date of journey & not as collected/quoted at time of booking
Booking Procedure:
- Advise date of journey & number of cabins required
- Forward Name/Sex/Nationality of all the passengers to process booking
- In case of Children< 12 yrs ,ALSO advise date of birth
- Booking will be confirmed on receipt of advance deposit of 25% of ticket value
- Balance Payment must reach us 60 days before tour depart
- Booking request made < 60 days before tour depart ,will be confirmed on one time receipt of full tour amount
Cancellation Terms:
- Cancellation request must be made in writing & acknowledged by us
- Cancellation charge of 20% on ticket value if request received >61 days before tour depart
- Cancellation charge of 50% on ticket value if request received between 31 to 60 days before tour depart
- Full 100% cancellation levy if request received<31 days before tour depart
- Train Tour Operator(RTDC) reserves the right to cancel scheduled depart due to technical reasons/R low occupancy & in such a case The Client will be refunded the amount received for train tour booking(with no further liability)
- Disputes(if any) are limited to jurisdiction of courts of New Delhi(India) onlyi
